Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a worldwide shortage of protective masks for medical and frontline personnel. Hygia Health is stepping up by increasing manufacturing capacity in Ontario to produce large quantities of low-cost medical grade face masks to meet urgent demand.
Our certified sanitary procedural face masks will be made up of a 3-ply pleated ear loop structure for personal health and medical and occupational use. Each mask is designed to reduce the transmission of fluids, dust, airborne particles and harmful viruses like COVID-19.
The product will be composed of three pieces: a mask body, nose clip and mask belt. The mask body - the actual face covering and protective portion of the mask - is a 3-ply structure, made up of non-woven fabric (outer layer), melt blown fabric (middle layer) and non-woven fabric (inner layer).
About Hygia Health
Hygia Health is a nimble energetic start-up company based in Ontario that was born out of the need to fill urgent demands for local good quality affordable surgical masks in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. Building off the success of our first import and distribution start-up Global Connect Canada, Hygia Health expects to manufacture up to 1,000,000 level 1 masks per day when fully operational.
